Message from the Coach
I would like to personally welcome everyone back to new season of Tiwi Bombers Football. What an exciting time for the club with a very close ending to the season, which still drives today. We are hoping that season 2011/12 can be the year of the Tiwi Bombers.
I would like to start by saying a huge thank you to our outgoing General Manager, Cameron Hotton, who moves on to the NT Thunder. Although disappointing to lose Cam, who has been a tremendous asset to the club, he will hopefully still be around in some capacity. I would like to welcome our new General Manager, Bernie Harris, into the role. He has spent a few days over at Nguiu catching up with people and meeting lots of new faces. I look forward to working with Bernie closely to ensure the Tiwi Bombers play the best possible football in the upcoming season.
We are well into preseason now in all 4 communities and the boys are pushing themselves really hard which is a great sign for the coaching staff. We have some old faces back involved with the club, again another positive. A recruiting committee has being setup and communication has already begun between them and potential players for the upcoming season.
We have been lucky enough to setup an excellent coaching staff around me, one in which I believe will allow the Tiwi Bombers to achieve their potential on the field.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all our support staff and board members, we are so lucky to have so many people willing to put their hand up to help us out not just on game but also during the week. Your help and support does not go unnoticed, and hopefully we will see you again this year. Also to our sponsors, it takes such a massive effort to get us out on the ground each week, so to have your backing and support is such a help to us, thank you.
Finally to the players, let’s do what we do best, play footy, work hard and give the Tiwi people what they want – a victory.
Thanks
Leigh Crossman
